Dr. Sánchez Zarza holds a PhD in Business Administration, an Executive MBA, and a degree in Geosciences with a specialization in Civil Engineering. With over 20 years of international experience, he is an expert in strategic leadership, research, and developing collaborative networks in science, technology, and innovation.

He currently serves as the President and Executive Director of ISAAAC, a global excellence network in IoT, complex systems, autonomy, and artificial intelligence, connecting experts from top institutions like MIT, Harvard, Cambridge, Trinity College Dublin, Carnegie Mellon, and the National Autonomous University of San Marcos (UNMSM).

Dr. Sánchez Zarza is also leading an important new strategic partnership with the University of Salamanca and the Compliance, New Technologies, and Citizens’ Guarantees Group, focusing on the intersection of emerging technologies, legal frameworks, and the protection of citizens’ guarantees in the digital era.

In his role as President, he leads the design and coordination of international R&D consortia for major funding programs such as Horizon Europe, managing large, multi-stakeholder projects across public and private sectors. His focus is on building high-impact alliances, innovation ecosystems, and ensuring the successful transfer of knowledge through disruptive technologies and measurable outcomes. He also has significant experience in the defense and security sectors, where he has contributed to strategic projects involving advanced technologies, security systems, and complex multi-national collaborations.

Throughout his career, he has held senior positions in renowned consulting firms and centers of excellence, leading teams in the strategic, technical, and administrative management of European projects in sectors including digital health, mobility, advanced materials, robotics, social technologies, sustainability, and defense and security.
