Conceptual Design and Innovation

Joan Bruno Rodríguez is an aerospace engineer and a creative thinker whose work focuses on the discovery of new links between Design Science methods and their application in the industry.

To enable this purpose, he instructs and applies Design Science in companies and institutions, where he positions conceptual design methods as key drivers for innovation, decision making and improvement. Simultaneously, he continues his research in the detection of new relations between Design Thinking and Design Science at the Technical University of Madrid.

Joan Bruno has been responsible for the development of Design Science methods in a global consultancy firm, taught conceptual design methods in institutions and companies, and his research on Airport Design by means of conceptual design granted by Spanish Airport Authority. His principle interests derive from the Industry, where he links creativity, science and technology from a humanist perspective of design; Academics, where he explores new perspectives and connections between Design Science & Engineering formulation; and Social Innovation, where he intends to bring advanced design tools closer.
