Our Foundational Story
The year 2018 marked a milestone in our history, coinciding with the eight-hundredth anniversary of the University of Salamanca, one of the oldest and most prestigious centers of knowledge in Europe. In this context, ISAAAC’s leadership was solidified with the inclusion of key figures: Secretary General Dr. Thomas Kapitza, General Advisor Dr. Shoumen Datta, President Dr. Domingo Sanchez Zarza, and Co-Chair Prof. Juan Manuel Corchado—who at that time served as Vice-Rector in Research and Technological Transfer at the University of Salamanca.

Their strategic vision and experience have been essential pillars in establishing the foundations of our think tank. In 2017, a group of people committed to creating solutions to complex problems came together, convinced that collaboration and the exchange of ideas could transform the landscape of security, technology, and innovation. This is how ISAAAC was born—a non-profit association dedicated to promoting initiatives with a global social and academic impact.
