Cristina Vicini is an international senior executive and board member with innovative companies and charities in Europe and North America, with a special focus on International Business Strategy and Sustainable Development, Innovation Management and Competitiveness (related to engineering, ICT – up to cyber, IoT, BigData – business models and IPR), Governance, Risk Management (including digital), Cross-Sector Digital Innovation and New Ventures, Global Diversity, Ethics and CSR.

With an information technology, international business and strategic marketing backgrounds, Mrs. Vicini has 25 years of cross-sector management and leadership experience with Technology Blue Chips, with the International Public Sector, with global Non-Profits and as an Entrepreneur.

After earlier experiences in IT R&D (also within EU Research Programs) and business consulting, Cristina spent almost ten years with the international organizations in Brussels before joining global leading groups like Siemens and, Deutsche Telekom, with responsibilities spanning from strategic positioning and multi-million business development with the international public sector, up to P&L executive roles in Europe and beyond.

Cristina’s further experience as an entrepreneur includes the international development of the family owned company – electro-mechanical engineering and manufacturing for the medical sector – as a COO for international operations, international development and innovation, leading a.o. to the award of a new technology patent (non-invasive bio-medical sensors) in the USA in September 2010.

On top of her business engagements in the high-tech and engineering sectors, Cristina Vicini served a.o. as Chair of Boston University’s Advisory Board for MET’s International Programs (Brussels), as Chairwoman of international non-profits and as international Entrepreneurship Mentor with the Cherie Blair Foundation and the European Women on Board Foundation.

Cristina was also invited on behalf of EBAN, the European Business Angels Network, to be a coach or judge at events and selections organized by ESA BIC and EIT Digital, dedicated to high- potential innovative start-ups.

In May 2015, Washington DC, Cristina was bestowed with the “World of Difference Award 100” in recognition of her impact as a leader in the Not-for-Profit/NGO sector.

Cristina is fluent in five languages, holds a Masters of International Management from Boston University and a Masters with honors in Computer Science from the University of Brussels (ULB). Since January 2017, Cristina Vicini has been elected Chairwoman of the international NGO TIAW.org, leading its strategic and digital transformation to become the largest worldwide digital platform for women economic empowerment, currently with HQs in Washington, DC and in Brussels.

Cristina has also been a member of the board of the Club of Rome – EU Chapter since 2016, with a focus on diversity and innovation models for sustainable development (e.g. circular economy, clean energy, etc.); elected Treasurer since 2017.
